3 Mistakes to Avoid in Order to Maintain Trust
It doesn’t matter how useful your products or services may be; if your customers and prospects don’t trust you, they’re not going to do business with you.
Building up a good reputation and trust is vital to your success, yet there are a few mistakes you could be making right now that are killing it.
1. An unprofessional website
One of the main pieces of advice given to business owners when they’re creating a website is to keep it simple. However, the last thing you want to do is to make it too simple. A website that doesn’t have a professional appearance nor provides all of the valuable information your customers and prospects need can cause a certain level of mistrust; ultimately damaging your reputation.
2. Not listening
Customers today need to feel like their voices are heard. If there’s a problem or they make a suggestion, it’s important you not only listen, but you respond in a timely manner. If you ignore comments sent to you on social media for example, you’re going to end up turning your customers against you. Aim to respond to all reviews, comments and concerns within 24 hours and this will significantly boost trust.
3. Badmouthing customers/clients
Badmouthing your customers and clients is never a good idea and will cost you dearly if word gets out. No matter how tempting it is, refrain from making any negative comments when interacting with your customers. There have been a few instances where businesses have made it onto the news due to posting rude, sometimes offensive comments to negative reviewers. No matter how frustrated you get, always remain professional, polite and positive about your customers and clients.
